Payments and Disputes
How card payments, merchant payouts, refunds, chargebacks and payment-side responsibilities work on Kordiva.
Public model clarification: October 13, 2026.
Business Commerce
For registered legal entities and sole traders, the merchant remains the seller of record for its goods and services. Kordiva's payment role does not make it the product seller in this model.
Your business approves eligible customer refunds under its policies and applicable law. Kordiva initiates the payment-side refund through Stripe. Refunded amounts can reduce your balance, reserve or future eligible payouts; the customer’s bank determines when the refund appears. A refund does not guarantee that every original fee is returned.
Kordiva receives payment-side disputes and requests your order, delivery and customer-communication evidence. Disputed funds and applicable processor or network fees can be held or recovered from Business proceeds. The confirmed outcome determines the final adjustment.
Business payouts follow verification, settlement, order fulfilment and transaction-specific hold checks. Available funds, payouts in transit and Stripe-confirmed paid payouts are shown separately in Payments/Payouts. Bank arrival is separate from eligibility; the Individual 1st and 15th schedule does not apply to Business Commerce.
Business payout and reserve rulesIndividual Merchant of Record
For eligible NATURAL_PERSON digital transactions, Kordiva LLC is Merchant of Record to the buyer. The customer pays Kordiva; the approved Individual supplies the digital content or service and receives eligible proceeds through the controlled payout flow.
Kordiva reviews Individual refund requests and manages full refunds and chargebacks. Automatic LIVE partial refunds are unavailable. Intended reserves range from 0% to 15%, according to the reviewed policy; eligible payouts follow the 1st and 15th UTC cycles. Planned buyer markets require separate approval and activation.

Business Commerce — registered legal entities and sole traders
The following Business provisions apply to registered businesses and sole traders. The separate public Individual MoR explanation follows below; it is not an accepted seller agreement.
Business Commerce acceptance version: mk-policy-v1.2. Applies only to the Business provisions in this section.
1. Merchant protection terms and role separation
The merchant operating a Kordiva store remains the seller of record for the products and services in that store. Kordiva operates the Stripe-connected card-payment infrastructure for the Business flow, but Kordiva does not become the seller, supplier, reseller, owner or licensor of the merchant's goods or services.
2. Card-payment flow
Customer card payments are processed through Kordiva's Stripe-connected platform flow. After Kordiva's applicable retained amounts and payment controls are applied, the merchant's eligible proceeds are transferred through the connected recipient-account infrastructure and later paid out to the merchant's verified bank account.
3. Merchant commercial responsibility
The merchant is responsible for product or service legality, accurate descriptions and pricing, fulfilment, delivery, warranties, customer rights, return rules, tax treatment and legally required sales or fiscal documents. The merchant must keep evidence of fulfilment and customer communication when reasonably necessary for a payment dispute.
4. Refunds
When a merchant approves an eligible refund in Kordiva, the platform initiates the payment-side refund through Stripe. The corresponding merchant proceeds can be reversed, offset against a reserve or recovered from a future payout when required to settle the refund. The customer's bank controls the final time needed for the refund to appear on the card statement.
The Business Orders interface supports a full-order refund, with no arbitrary partial-amount selector. Where a delivery date is recorded, the interface applies a 14-day refund window from delivery. This software limit does not replace customer rights; contact support for cases requiring further review. Unpaid, already-refunded or restricted orders may not be refundable through the interface.
5. Disputes and chargebacks
If a customer disputes a card payment, Kordiva receives and processes the payment-processor event and can request evidence from the merchant. The disputed amount and processor/network fees attributable to the merchant's transaction can be held, reversed or recovered from merchant proceeds in accordance with the applicable policy and actual processor charges.
6. Payout holds and reserves
Payout release depends on verification, delivery state, merchant history and risk. Kordiva can use payout delays or reserves to keep funds available for refunds, disputes, negative balances or other payment risk. The specific order status shown in the merchant dashboard is the operational source of truth for whether funds are eligible for release.
For ordinary foreign or unknown-card orders, the base hold is 14 days from first shipment for physical goods, or 7 days from payment for digital-only and deposit orders. Eligible established merchants can have shorter 7-day and 3-day base windows. Confirmed MK-card payments have no ordinary time hold, but still require the shipment or payment milestone, settlement and release checks. Longer existing holds, manual reviews, reserves and risk controls can still apply. These are eligibility windows, not guaranteed bank-arrival dates.
Business holds and reserves follow the merchant’s transaction and risk profile. Refunds, disputes, debt or unresolved payment records can delay release or reduce eligible proceeds. Individual reserve tiers do not define Business reserves. Check the dashboard for your order’s current status.
7. Card-statement identification
Kordiva sends the store name as a statement-descriptor suffix where supported. The final statement text also depends on Kordiva's configured Stripe base descriptor and the customer's issuing bank, so exact formatting can vary.
8. Support responsibility
Questions about a product, delivery, service fulfilment, warranty or ordinary return should be handled by the merchant. Questions about Kordiva's payment processing, payout status or platform operation can be escalated to Kordiva support.
Individual Merchant of Record — public model summary
This is a public explanation of the Individual model, not a legally binding Individual seller agreement or evidence of acceptance. Business terms acceptance does not establish acceptance of an Individual MoR agreement. A separately reviewed Individual seller agreement, version and acceptance rollout are required before LIVE.
Eligibility and digital scope
Individual access requires application approval, identity and bank verification, approved digital products/services and separate LIVE activation. Physical goods and recurring customer subscriptions are excluded. Product review considers the rights and permissions needed to supply the content, accurate seller information and applicable acceptable-use/restricted-products policies.
Payments, taxes and buyer documents
Kordiva LLC is Merchant of Record for eligible Individual customer transactions using Stripe-hosted payment infrastructure. Kordiva controls the configured buyer-tax and customer payment/invoice layer in activated, reviewed markets. A seller-country approval does not authorize every buyer market. Pending OSS registration does not establish active EU coverage. Sellers retain their own income-tax, accounting and registration obligations.
Fees, reserves and payouts
Platform subscription, commercial sale fees and payout fees are separate. Actual attributable payment/provider, FX or banking costs may apply according to the transaction. Eligible proceeds depend on verified costs, maturity, custody, reserves and reconciliation; refunds, disputes and debt can reduce or delay availability. Scheduled bank cycles are the 1st and 15th (UTC), subject to eligibility, verification and risk controls; no unconditional payout date is promised.
Refunds, disputes and seller cooperation
Kordiva controls the Individual payment-side refund, dispute and recovery lifecycle under the applicable policy and customer rights. The operational flow includes seller cooperation with support and content, fulfillment and customer-communication evidence. LIVE full refunds are supported under the controlled flow; arbitrary automatic LIVE partial refunds are not currently available. Refunds, disputes and debt can affect eligible proceeds and reserves.
Restrictions and responsibility
Kordiva may restrict access or selling for incomplete verification, unsupported markets, prohibited products, fraud or material policy breaches. TEST activity is isolated and creates no real bank payout. Approval is not a promise of uninterrupted availability or exemption from your own legal obligations. These public explanations do not establish a seller agreement or replace mandatory customer rights.
Intended Individual reserves: default 10% for 90 days, reduced 5% for 90 days, proven 0%, higher risk 15% for up to 120 days. These are temporary holds on eligible seller payable, not extra commercial fees; account eligibility, risk review and verified activation apply. Release and bank arrival are separate.
