A quick guide to the platform, payment tools and selling models you will find in Kordiva.

Kordiva
The platform where you build your store and manage sales, products, customers and orders.
Stripe
The payment infrastructure used for supported card transactions. It is not another store builder, and using Kordiva does not automatically open a Stripe account.
Checkout Links
A link to a payment page for a product or service that you can share by message, social media or email.
API
A connection for an existing website or app to use supported Kordiva checkout and commerce functions without rebuilding the website.
Business Commerce
Your registered company or sole-trader business remains the legal seller to the customer.
Merchant of Record
For approved Individual one-time digital sales, Kordiva LLC is the legal seller to the buyer and handles the applicable buyer-side sales tax in enabled markets.
WHAT THE PLATFORM ACTUALLY DOES

CHOOSE YOUR MODEL

One platform. Two ways to sell.

Choose the model that fits your business. Registered businesses sell in their own name. Eligible individuals sell approved digital products with Kordiva as Merchant of Record.

Business Commerce

Registered legal entities and sole traders.

Live today, with merchants accepting real payments. Reach international buyers where Stripe supports your transactions. Your business remains the seller.

BALKAN MERCHANT APPLICATIONS

Start in four countries. Grow beyond borders.

Our initial onboarding countries are North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania. Registered businesses, sole traders and eligible Individual digital sellers can apply. These are seller onboarding countries, separate from the countries your customers buy from.

Business Commerce Individual Merchant of Record
  • North Macedonia
  • Serbia
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Albania
Outside these four countries?

We plan to expand onboarding as demand grows. Tell us where your business is based and what you sell. Our team will review payment support, verification and local requirements, then confirm whether we can support your setup.

Request a country review

Business Commerce already serves live merchants. Each new seller completes the checks required for their setup. Individual MoR buyer markets follow a separate rollout: Canada and EU-27 are pending. Applying from another seller country starts a review; it does not guarantee approval.

HOW CARD FEES WORK

One simple plan price. Processing varies.

Stripe processes supported card payments. The examples above use published US Standard Pricing, not a quote for every merchant or transaction.

Base card example2.9% + $0.30

Currency conversion+1% where applicable

*The $100 examples use estimated base Kordiva + Stripe US card costs only, before customer tax, FX, banking or other adjustments. They are not final bank payouts. Actual processing costs depend on merchant country, card, currency and agreement. Monthly subscriptions are separate. Full plan comparison →

Business refunds and payouts follow the Business merchant rules, separate from Individual MoR cycles and reserve tiers. Business payouts and reserves →

USD · EXAMPLE, NOT A PAYOUT PROMISE

A customer pays $100.
How much remains?

First see a Business Commerce sale, then compare the Individual plans. Fees and payout rules are different between the two models; a balance after one fee is not the amount arriving in your bank.

BUSINESS COMMERCE

An example on the Basic plan.

Your registered business is the legal seller. On a $100 sale before buyer tax, this example assumes a 2.9% + $0.30 Stripe processing charge solely to illustrate the math. Your actual Stripe/payment-provider fees can differ.

REFUNDS, DISPUTES & RESPONSIBILITY

What happens
after the payment?

Refunds and chargebacks are part of real commerce. Who handles the buyer's case depends on whether you sell through a registered business or Kordiva's approved Individual Merchant of Record model.

BUSINESS COMMERCE

Your business remains the seller.

The registered merchant remains responsible for customer policies, fulfillment and seller-side refunds and disputes under the applicable payment-provider process. Kordiva connects the order and payment information.

Your business approves eligible customer refunds under its policies and applicable law. Kordiva initiates the payment-side refund through Stripe. Refunded amounts can reduce your balance, reserve or future eligible payouts; the customer’s bank determines when the refund appears. A refund does not guarantee that every original fee is returned.

Kordiva receives payment-side disputes and requests your order, delivery and customer-communication evidence. Disputed funds and applicable processor or network fees can be held or recovered from Business proceeds. The confirmed outcome determines the final adjustment.

Business payouts follow verification, settlement, order fulfilment and transaction-specific hold checks. Available funds, payouts in transit and Stripe-confirmed paid payouts are shown separately in Payments/Payouts. Bank arrival is separate from eligibility; the Individual 1st and 15th schedule does not apply to Business Commerce.

Business refunds, disputes and payouts
INDIVIDUAL MERCHANT OF RECORD

Kordiva handles the buyer-side case.

For approved one-time digital sales, Kordiva reviews refund requests and manages full refunds and chargebacks on its original payment. Requests do not issue refunds immediately; automatic LIVE partial refunds are unavailable. Sellers provide evidence and remain responsible for applicable recovery or debt. Eligible funds follow the 1st and 15th UTC payout cycles; reserves can delay availability.

How Individual refunds and disputes work

Individual MoR launch roadmap: USA and Australia are planned, with activation to be confirmed. Canada: application pending. EU-27: Irish OSS application pending. We will enable more buyer countries gradually after reviewing payment support, products and tax requirements. These pending statuses apply to Individual MoR, not Business Commerce.

Buyer market preparation status →

Refunds, dispute outcomes and recoveries are not automatic or guaranteed. Temporary reserves may protect against losses, but are not an additional commercial fee. Customer rights, seller agreements, supported payment features and risk checks still apply.
